Hometown, Cambridge, Ohio.  Occupation: Carpenter.  Hobbies:  Hunting, Hunting and More Hunting.  Major Achievements:  Woods Wise Pro Staffer for over ten years.  Married to the same sweet lady for 29 years and counting.  Bill, Billy, Billy Boy, Billy The Man, is best known for his turkey hunting skills.  Bill consistently bags big gobblers with long turned up spurs.  This year alone (2002) he only hunted two states and bagged 4 Toms with spurs 1.5, 1.5, 1.375 & 1.25.  Anyone can get the young gobblers but it takes dedication, patience, persistence, and a little luck thrown in for good measure, to consistently take the big ones.  Beard length and weight have nothing to do with big.  The spurs are everything to me and nothing else matters.

Bill is a self-acclaimed innovator of the Turkey Bubble.  He claims that a turkey's territory is like a bathtub full of bubbles.  A Tom will travel from bubble to bubble looking for hens.  Some bubbles are big, some are small.  A field might be a big one, a well head might be a small one etc.  A tom feels secure in these because he spends hours in them each spring.  If you can find these bubbles and get in them before he arrives or even after he has been there he will often come back and you will be toting those big spurs.

Bill also is an avid bow hunter with 43 whitetails to his credit.  He doesn't claim to be a trophy hunter but will not pass one up.  Whatever I am hunting, I hunt for the joy of it.  A kill is not necessary.  It's the hunt itself that I enjoy.  My focus when hunting is on every animal that I encounter and what it is doing.  By watching other animals and how they react to certain situations will a lot of times help you harvest your game as well as educate you to be a good woodsman.  there will always be slobs in the woods bending the rules so if you set an example and use proper ethics for others to follow maybe there will be less of them.  Good luck hunting and be safe.
